D Link Wbr 2310 Drivers For Mac
D-Link Wireless G Router WBR-2310 Pros: It plugs in and works without installing the software on Windows XP. It works with 802.11b and 802.11g devices perfectly. It has 4 Ethernet ports on the back and works with wireless network adapters. It works with PCI and USB network adapters. You can still run the user friendly software setup wizard and configure your router for your own special settings.
Also, you can just go to the router in a browser by typing in 192.168.0.1 and configure it there without installing the software. It works great in my concrete block home up to 2 rooms away from the router room. It is well worth the money I paid for it and I am happy with it. Cons: It does not work 3 or more rooms away from the router room. It does not work on Wireless N network devices but it was not designed to do so. 108mbps wireless.beats even hardwire at 100mbps. The best thing I like about this router is that its wireless is 108mbps.
If your computer is double G then you have faster wireless than wire! It connects quickly and pretty much problem free.
MAC Filtering: The MAC (Media Access Controller) Address filter option is used to control network access based on the MAC Address of the network adapter. A MAC address is a unique ID assigned by the manufacturer of the network adapter.
I bought my first one by chance and discovered the fast wireless, and what's weird is it did actually stop working once. I went out and bought a Linksys.which is only half the speed, but then one day I decided to hook the D-Link back up using a new cord between the modem and it and it worked and still working. I did buy another one off Ebay just to have one on hand should it ever go. Even if I were to have to replace my existing one I decided I would do so with the same thing, hence my getting a backup router. My laptop has double G network so it runs at 108, better than 54. The price is good, and another reason I bought a back up is because I was afraid when and if I needed a new one I wouldn't be able to find one. I'm not such a computer geek that I stay with the latest technology, I am happy with what I have.
Good unit, and I received it quite quickly.
D'link Wbr 2310 Firmware Update
I just purchased a new dlink wbr2310 on Sunday, my old dlinkwbr1310 seemed to be okay then while I was using my laptop my computer shut down and upon re starting I couldn't connect to the internet, when looking at the Local Area connection icom the message was 'A network cable is unplugged' trying to figure out what might be wrong, went to the store and purchased another dlink (on sales person advise, which he said is all I need) so I bought the wbr2310 but I still have that message, can you help me solve this? Not sure what the difference is I'm not good with the tech side of computers I know I connected everything correctly, the same as I did the first time before mylaptop shut down, I can move around the house with the laptop with out wires connected to it?
